Goscote Nurseries was founded in 1964 with the aim of growing and sourcing plants from all corners of the world. We have the largest selection of hardy plants in the Midlands and have gained a national reputation for supplying quality trees and shrubs, many of which are rare or unusual. Today, we are as committed to these principles and annually introduce new plants. We are open to the public 7 days a week with expert advice at hand and a show garden to browse around.
Built within an original 1818 Victorian walled garden, formerly part of Cold Overton Hall, the nursery was founded by Fred and Ivy Gates when they created a market garden back in 1948. Still very much a family business we are proud to say that many of the traditional values the business was built on are just as important to us today. With the widest choice and quality of goods, ranging from indoor and outdoor plants, gifts, garden and conservatory furniture, clothing and so much more to offer why not pay us a visit and experience the charm of Gates Nurseries for yourself?
Run by a cheerful and professional team of horticultural experts, the centre offers an excellent array of top quality growing stock and gardening products. Loyalty is key here – one member of staff has been with the centre for 34 years and 5 have more than 100 years’ experience at Rowena between them! Whilst plants and gardening remain the primary focus, the centre also stocks garden furniture, wild bird care products and a great range of giftware and cards complemented by the fantastic Conservatory Restaurant that serves delicious home-made food
The Rutland Garden Centre is the leading horticultural centre in the region. The garden centre, spread over 4.5 acres is home to over 5,000 plants, shrubs and trees. Most of the plants are under cover, placed on benches at knee height for easy viewing and choosing. One of our specialities is our unique hanging baskets designed and produced on site. The gardeners’ garden centre. We are open seven days a week including bank holidays.
